heiner
The architects designed the villa for the german photographer Heiner Pflug. Heiner has travelled almost the entire world by bike, sailing boat and motorcycle. He lived in Brazil for more than 30 years and became a resident in 1982. Over the years he launched 8 books with photographs, landscapes, people, animals, flowers and a sentimental topic: leprosy. “Breaking Barriers – the Stigma of Leprosy” was his last book.
As for Casa do Heiner his wish was to have the feeling of being on a boat during the day and gaze the moon and stars above his bed at night. He lived at the villa with his faithful dog. In march 2017 Heiner passed away.
